Some bad news…
Well... I ran by the shop today. I've been in class for the last few weeks at "Field Training". Anyway I ran by the shop and saw TSgt Xxx, well he pulled me into his Office, apparently he wanted to have a little talk with me about something. So I was thinkin', "Alright, no biggie, just a talk about something, hope I know what he's talking about." ...

Anyway, after a little while of talking I was starting to understand... He was "asking me" but at the same time I saw it was a good opportunity as far as career. Anyway, he needed a decision right there... So I told him yes. Yes to what, you ask? Well, he told me that there was a "short tour" that they wanted to send someone on and it would be almost a guaranteed early promotion... So they're going to be sending me on a Temporary Duty Assignment to Khandahar Airbase, Afghanistan. So myself and another guy from the shop aren't getting deployed, technically, we're getting sent TDY (Temporary Duty Assignment) for 11 months (12 after all the technicalities get worked out). That's not the worst news, though.

The worst news, is that I'm leaving next Friday, 2004 April 09. Very rough news. Rachel took it well when I got home, though... I have to do two hours of school tomorrow, then I "graduate" then I'm off until 6pm Friday when I have to be at the shop for some sort of send off thing... Eventhough i'm off, though, I still have to run around and do some stupid ass paperwork. They said it was easy to send me because since I just got here I just got all checked up and i'm cleared for TDY's, and since it was so close... Well it was just easier.

Well, in the long run it will be the best thing for Rachel and I. I'll get my promotion six months early and we'll have more money coming in. Also, I think i'll be taking some classes over there and get some more College credits. From what i've heard it's not that busy over there, and besides, by this time next year when I get home i'll be used to the summer's here. Haha...

Well, i'm off to get hammered. =D Enjoy.
